Hello 'roja!

We have lived next door to Saroja for nearly 17 years. During that time Saroja has seen each of the children grow and change. In the same way we have watched the walnut tree grow from a small tree that didn't produce any fruit to a large, child friendly, climbing tree that produces walnuts galore.

Over the years each of the children have called out "Hello 'roja!" to Saroja, and lots of variations of pronunciation, from our back yard to hers - from our walnut tree to her back door, swinging in the tree, running through the yard or balancing on the fence.

Today I decided to capture and record that memory - for us, for Saroja, and for the Scrapapple Weekend Workout.

It took a few photos to get a reasonable photo of all the kids smiling but I succeeded eventually.

The challenge was to use black and white, and colour photos on a layout.

The owl represents 'watching' and the numbers represent the years and the children. And the heart... well we all love Saroja - we'll miss her when we move.
PS:I got the numbers idea from Meredith who said she got the numbers idea from someone else, she can't remember who.

Here's a close-up of the owl - the first, and probably the last, time I have used an owl. No, hang on! I have another one.
